Station/mega corp/planet colonization

Any ideas how to improve the game or the site.

Station/mega corp/planet colonization

Being able to make your own Station/mega corp/planet colonization, where other aliens/pirates invade on the regular or buy, also being able to see your planets population walk around while pirates come down to invade and your planet fighting back would be cool, finding building blue prints for higher graded building to build on your colonized planets, like a Shipyard for building ships with minerals and paying per labor being able to employ the population to work , factory for weapon productions building for shields etc.

More planet development where aliens will develop there own planets and become more advance, pirates should attack all planets, unless you become pirate king..

having a reputation list for all the Race's you have met so far

lol its funny i was discussing this idea with a good friend of mine the other day but never wrote the suggestion.
Id love it because thats what i want to pay for... whats the point in buying stuff that you cant see or interact with. It would be nice to buy a mudds shop and then profit from it, or buy a planet and colonize it by placing buildings and it would be cool to be able to abduct animals from other planets and bring them to your planet to release and populate your world.

Nay for planet colonization from me - IMHO it will be a non-necessary overcomplication of prospector (I can provide some arguments why - but i too tired to do it now).

Anyway, prospector - rogue-like space adventure not space colonization, nor space empires, nor space "battery trading" sim.

This is another one that pops up again and again.
I am generally not opposed to it. Of course the devil is as always in the details.
I guess the how could be that you can charter a colony ship, and escort it to the planet you want to colonize.
Now the question becomes what buildings these colonists should build, and how they interact with the planet.

I don't think you should try to remake MOO2 or GalCiv... 4X-style empire management and battles would be too much effort and take focus away from exploring.

If you DO throw in something like this, I'd rather it take a somewhat different approach. Like, you might charter a colony ship and even pick a planet for it, but you wouldn't be in control of the colony itself.

Logically, why would you? You might be a great prospector in the eyes of the megacorps, but that doesn't mean you know dick about running a colony that can't just fly away from its problems. They'd rather have one of their own executives in charge, thank you very much. Wait, what's that? You paid for the colony ship and YOU want to be in charge? Nope, sorry, you'll just have to settle for a cut of the colony's profits. Why are you so intent on playing boring old Space Governor, anyway? Go back to the unknown frontier and do what you're best at, dammit!

Instead, you could be more like a patron of your new colony.

You'd stop in every now and then, collect your profits, and recommend buildings for them to build (and maybe donate some of your own cash to help them build it faster). Naturally, a lot of these buildings could be prospector-friendly buildings like stores, a fuel depot, a company office, a Mudd's branch, and so forth. Any stores should have gear/augments that you can't get at the space stations, and there could be a few special buildings or bonuses that only colonies can have. Placed thoughtfully, the colony could help a lot in areas of the galaxy that are distant from the space stations.

Colonies could also be a source of quests (get rid of X that's hurting us, go make a deal with the nearby Y settlement, take this cargo to station Z, and so forth), and completing them would be another way to help the colony grow.

Maybe there could be a minigame where you try to pick the right spot for colonists to mine or grow food or place a building, but again this aspect of it probably shouldn't get TOO involved and micromanaging. Each planet might have only had so many areas to use, and some areas would definitely be better for some things than others (thus the player would have to consider his decision carefully).

Finally, a successful colony would of course count among your assets if you manage to retire.

Once again you guys don't really give me a reason why it wouldn't be fun..., the whole point is so the universe interacts with your planet!, being in charge of your own colony on to the really big money, i should be able to do what i want, and eventually become the richest being in the universe fighting other colonies etc sounds fun because im 20k turns in and nothing left to do, so like us real pros who are into this game we can tell where this would come in handy late game and transform the game completely late game! if you ever reach it that far, sending your colonies to attack other planets or invade or take over or take there resources, while still providing all the guns, armor, food, stocks, building for your colonies to thrive making alliances that aid in defending you with other planets or enemies that attack you depending how far and how many ships your colonies have and what types of ship, it would take them so and so amount of time, having your own patrols around your planets.. etc

also having other Jobs, like Farmer/builder/ and then having your colonies military ship/yards
