Any ideas how to improve the game or the site.

Simple suggestions list

1. Make mini-map move to keep current location visible

With large sector (map) sizes the 'white rectangle' that indicates your current location can move off the edge of the screen. This is bad. :P Possibly the simplest, if not best, way would be to have the mini-map display centered on your current location.

2. Export of log book data

I think it would be cool if you could export the data for locations in your log-book in text or csv form. It would make it easier to take notes.

3. Not so easy patrol

Some patrols are impossible without stopping at a station to refuel along the way. This one, for example:

I would suggest that for those patrols you could simply drop the 'easy' and say:
"We could use some help with a patrol. Are you interested? (y/n)"

4. Default wage

One of the first things I do with every new game (if I remember) is set the basic wage to 11 Cr. If you could set the default basic wage in the config.txt file it would save time, and possibly save some resignations. :)

+ you can now set standard wage in config

It's cool to see this one made it.

After a little experimentation I think the config.txt needs to have something like

wage: 0
stwage: 11

Not sure what 'wage on / off' does. Maybe you can only set the starting wage if you have 'wage on'?

Ooops.
I did very little testing.
This one is a display error only. I forgot to tell it that wage isn't binary on/off no, so it reads 0 as on and any other value as off.
In the background wage is the value you set it to here. (Or in config.txt where the variable name is stwage
