A* can have problems with backtracking. That can get computationally expensive, quickly. Is there a difference between performance on nice flat worlds, and mountain maze hells?

Error #6 seems to be an array out-of-bounds access according to the Freebasic documentation. I'll have a look at the code later, maybe I can spot the possible culprit.

Might have found it. Is the landing place of the ship near the polar regions? (And yes: Rovers are still buggy)

Aha. So it wasn't that then. Might have been this other thing (Someone defined the array in which to store the path with 1200 squares, should be 1281)
