first of all, I love space exploration games in the spirit of Starflight and Star control, and I love roguelikes, so Prospector is definitely my kind of game.
I think I've found a bug that occurs while playing poker - the game doesn't seem to count the face-down card for the player when evaluating the hand. If the player is dealt, for example, 10-J-7-8-10, it's considered a "high card" hand by the game and not a pair. For the AI players, it the game would consider it a pair.
Or am I missing some of the rules of poker?
