Space weapons have a range of zero?

Postby stauto » Thu 1. Jun 2017, 13:19

One thing I've noticed is that in my game is that, after upgrading to a coil gun and rank 1 shields, is that I can be literally next to an enemy in space, have them shoot me, and get the "No targets in range" message. Even if I use missiles or lasers, I can't target enemies that are not directly in my square, while they can hit me from quite a distance away. It is a sad day when a pirate is killed by a single merchant ship.

I've never used a coil gun, but I'm pretty sure it isn't supposed to have a range of zero.

Could you upload your save game file and config.txt?

Here's a save file. Not a coilgun, since that save file ended up having other issues, but a LRF about to attack a Station while having a shield and a gun. No matter how close I get to it, it always says "no targets in range"

Hmm, I can confirm it's the same on my computer with your save. It also happens in R201 so it isn't a bug new to R202.

I've used Disintegrators and Lasers with no problem before, so maybe it's only 'gun' types (coilgun, gun). Anyway, it's certainly a real bug.

The problem was actually that it didn't work when you used arrow keys to get your target. Worked with +/- to flip through targets. Should be solved, but I didn't get to test it, so please let me know.
